Divine Mama

She wakes me up to draw her

So she can pray

For me

For we

Divine mothers appear at every turn

Teaching me

Leading me

Learned God is a black woman

Praying more fervently now

It all makes sense

And then it doesn’t again

Two headed not two faced

Hearing the words they don’t say

Seeing the pain and the peace they don’t display

Don’t try to hide it I’ll see it anyway

She wakes me up to draw her

So she can pray

for me

for we

Divine mothers appear at every turn

Art: Charcoal on paper – Tiffany Nicole

prayer, thought, movement

The transformative power of prayer, positive thought, and movement

the air around me is electric and the breathe within me is a blessing

I dance slightly off beat on every Saturday that I can with beautiful humans from all over the world

Heartache won’t hold me anywhere even when it seeks me out

I shake it off as Dr. Wray leads us through a moving meditation

Our chests are open and turned up to the sky

Learning to move in time with the present moment

Touching the inner most parts of my soul and reaching out to the outer edges of my energy field

Grateful to be here with a heart beat and moving feet that are finding their rhythm again

And that is BIG

do you understand?

The transformative power of prayer, positive thought and movement…

Author’s note: Go through it -don’t stand in it. You are loved.

UNchanging value

strong black woman, bright streak of independence

same black woman sometimes feels weak and dependent

her value does not change as her emotions do

understand this

Don’t put more on her plate because of her race or the alleged pace you and that society you belong to believe she should be / could be running at

and if you can’t find empathy and understanding for her

keep

it

pushing

Please.

She does not have time for anymore negativity or foolishness

God sent her here on a mission

and she does not need your permission for…

anything

Understand that, simple human made of the same dust as she

Strong black woman with a dark streak of independence

Same black woman sometimes feels weak and dependent

Her value never changes

Priceless

Rooting for revival

Sketch by Me

She sat silently resting in the forest of her heart.

We can remain stuck in fear & holding on to the past, or we can use our past experiences to move confidently into the future. – Tanaaz

These words echoed throughout the canyons of her mind as strong winds of change began to blow in and around her.

Two cardinals flew by with a message.

When the roots are deep, there is no need to fear the wind. – Unknown

She stood faithfully and fearlessly in the forest of her own heart as her body began moving forward in time with the divine.

And so it is.
