Cloaks

She ran fast and her light shined bright even in the darkest of night

Even in the darkest of night

Cloaked in confidence

Cloaked in confidence

Cloaked in confidence

And bulletproof belief

She stood in the field of forever

The warrior queen at her left

Sister Nature at her right

God in her heart

She pulled all her own triggers so you couldn’t

Blam

Glitter everywhere

Cloaked in confidence

Cloaked in confidence

Cloaked in confidence

Even in the darkest of night

She ran fast and her light shined bright even in the darkest of night

Protected

The spiritual assassin lived in the shadows just beyond the light

Silently taking down demonic predators of positive energy, she chose this life

Powerful prayers of peace perforated their souls

A rogue of sorts

Protected by God’s strongest archangels she bent those that berated the beloved ones with silver bullets of karmic retribution

Karma was her mama

Well taught she was and not quite clear of sin she balanced light and dark

The spiritual assassin lived in the shadows just beyond the light

Ain’t No Makeups

The glass splintered in a symphony of bells

Beautiful Breakups

Never to be put back together

One shot is all you’ve got

No turning back the clock

Shards of yesterday rest on the floor of forever in the present moment

No use crying over… spilled anything really

Amongst the shattered glass sparkling like diamonds lay your lessons learned your blesssings earned

Cash those blessings in for something more resilient next time

Beautiful Breakups

No use in making up

Sometimes our lives need shaking up

Beautiful Breakups

Queen of Kwanzaa Amanayea

Woman I miss you around the holidays

I was thinking of that last Christmas

I don’t beat myself up anymore

Now I focus on time spent

Quality over Quantity

But Woman, I am missing you

Slightly out of alignment I cry, then sigh, and release it

Ugggghhhhh

Damn I miss you

You were my tradition

Too cool for Santa you waited on Kwanzaa

I don’t ask to be gifted you anymore it creeps them out and Santa doesn’t give out dead aunties anyway

I know that made you laugh

Woman I miss you

You were from my planet

Damn it

These earthlings and their holidays

Woman I miss you

I feel you reminding me that we are still quite connected

We are connected *smiles

Losing you on this earthly plane forced my soul to grow

Gratitude

But damn right now, human me misses human you

Woman I miss you

Writer’s Note: Amanayea J. Abraham was/is unconditional love. She pulled up for her community in way that was real- in a way that was healing. I hope to tell you more about her one day.

Unconditional love is the salve this holiday and every day. Hold on to what’s real to you, what feels good to you.

All that otha shit can git. *extra southern voice

Daughter of the Moon / Son of the Ocean

Mother Moon descended from the clouds in shimmering splendor

Her eyes twinkled and the faint smell of roses flowed from her hair

The stars are yours my darlings she said as she gently wrapped us in her blessings

The stars are ours

The time is now

Let us align

Writer’s Note: Send some loving thoughts and energy my way if you could.  Thank you.

where’s my lighter?

The queen burned down her own kingdom

Overrun with foolishness

She was homeless/hoeless

Far from hopeless though

She laughed slightly and smiled

The queen burned down her own kingdom

She stood just close enough to feel the warmth of the flickering flames and not get burnt

Bending down, she lit her cigarette on the walls of her burning kingdom

Unafraid of cancer, because we’re all terminal anyway, she inhaled and exhaled

Fuck it

Let it burn

Let it burn

Let it burn

She owned that it wasn’t built on anything worth saving

Foundation fractaled by faux “I’ll love you forevers” flung from mouths that made mockeries of marriage

Unions made useless

Committed only to not being committed

Lessons learned

Bridges burned

The queen burned down her own kingdom

Let it Burn

to be continued…
